Plants are able to perceive and respond to sounds of a certain frequency. During experiments with the Drummond sturgeon, scientists played a recording of bees buzzing, and within three minutes the concentration of sugar in the plant's nectar increased by 20%. In the same way, the sturgeon reacted to similar low-frequency sounds, while sounds of a fundamentally different frequency range did not cause any response.
